The rooms are part of a historic home built in the sixteenth century, but enlarged over the years up to the nineteenth. The home has been entirely restored in a manner respecting the original historical esthetic, but insisting upon contemporary standards of comfort and convenience. Each room is furnished with antiques. The beds are fitted with comfortable modern mattresses and linens. The bathrooms have been built to 21st-century standards.
The home is situated in the southern part of the Champagne Region, near the banks of the River Seine, where the river is clear-flowing and full of fish. The village dates from the Medieval Period, having numerous historical monuments, including a thirteenth-century Gothic church as well as a « grenier à sel » built to safeguard salt in a time when it was almost as valuable as money. The village even has the remnants of the original Jewish Quarter. Because of its southern location, this village of Champagne vineyards is ideally located in very close proximity to both the « Route du Champagne » and the « Route du Crémant de Bourgogne ». Surrounded by forests and hiking trails, it is also a favorite spot for both hunters and fishermen.
