We are not located directly on the water, but private township lake access sites are located across the street, just a three minute walk away. The lake is beautiful - has a hard sand bottom and is shallow for a long way out for the kids to play all day. Our location is just 30 minutes away from downtown Traverse City and 15 minutes from the quaint waterfront town of Elk Rapids, where you will find excellent eateries and shopping. There are several awesome marinas in the neighborhood that have speed boat, pontoon boat and kayak rentals. Shanty Creek is just 9 miles away, featuring excellent golf in the town of Bellaire. Turtle Creek Casino is just down the street on M-72, if you're looking for some night-time activities. Or if you're looking to just relax, spend your afternoon at the cottage - nap in the hammock, sit around the campfire or take in the lake views from the front porch. All-in-all, you're picking a great spot to experience northern Michigan and the breath-taking lower chain of lakes, featuring Lake Bellaire, the Grass River, Clam Lake, Torch Lake, the Torch River, Skegemog Lake and Elk Lake.
